Euro Executive Recruitment has been retained by one of world's leading healthcare companies to recruit for the role of Senior Manager (Site Process Engineering) based at their state of the art manufacturing facility in Limerick.
This role is of key strategic importance to the continued growth of their business and you will be working as part of the Senior Leadership Team in Engineering and collaborating with Operations and R&D, leading a team of 20 highly capable Engineers (from graduate to Principal Engineer) to deliver base business commitments, project timelines, new line Product Qualifications and NPI.
As the Senior Manager You will set strategic direction for the Process Engineering function ensuring the correct skills are hired and developed, with specific focus on product / materials, tools and the use of Data.
The Senior Manager will also be a major contributor on broader Engineering topics and forums and build strong collaborations within industry and within the company for the success of local and global agendas.
Ideally you will have over of 15 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years’ in a senior management position, preferably leading and influencing engineering teams.

COMPANY INTRODUCTION
Vision Care Ireland is located in Limerick and produces the Acuvue range of contact lenses which is the leading contact lens product in the world. Our Limerick site uses the most advanced technology in the industry and we now employ over 900 people directly. Using our highly automated production process, we produce daily disposable contact lenses while utilizing state of the art technologies such as injection moulding, robotics, vision systems and sterilization systems.
The manufacturing facility was established in 1995 in the National Technology Park close to the University of Limerick. The facility was originally fitted with six advanced production lines to manufacture one daily disposable contact lens for the European and Japanese markets. Since then we have expanded a number of times and now have over 36 production lines manufacturing over 8 million one-day, fortnightly, monthly and cosmetic contact lenses per day which are shipped worldwide.

Each year, we have increased output because of the increase demand for our Acuvue lenses throughout the world. Continued expansion of our product lines utilizing latest advanced Injection Moulding technology and extensive NPI, engineering and retrofit projects ensure that this growth is sustained well into the future.
As Site Process Engineering Manager, your typical day may include:
• Working as part of a Senior Leadership Team in Engineering and collaborating with Operations and R&D to deliver world-class new products – ensuring product knowledge is within your function, and the factory is successful from a PQ and ramp perspective.
• Ensure good working relationships with R&D is critical to ensure DTV/DFM principles and agreements are followed through
• You will lead a team of nearly 20 highly capable Engineers (from graduate to Principal Eng) to deliver base business commitments, project timelines, new line Product Qualifications and NPI.
• You will set strategic direction for the Process Engineering function ensuring the correct skills are hired and
developed, with specific focus on product/ materials, tools and the use of Data.
• You will also be expected to contribute on broader Engineering topics and forums and build strong collaborations within industry and within J&J for the success of Local and global agendas
What you’ll own and how you’ll grow:
• This role is recognized within the organization as being of key strategic importance in terms of enabling the business to remain competitive and grow market share.
• You will be responsible for the material/ data and product side of the Engineering function. Your team will work with the machine designers and mechanical engineers to design upgrades to improve product performance and yields on the manufacturing lines
• Your team will own WCC, characterizing, OQ, PQ activities for base products, enhancements and NPI rollout
• You will be the direct link with R&D to represent the site
• You will have the opportunity to work in one of the most Automated regulated environments, the largest Lens manufacturing facility in the world, and applying engineering techniques to grow the business

BE VITAL - What you’re great at:
You will have a minimum qualification of Level 8. B.Sc. or B.Eng. honours degree in Engineering/ Science with a proven track record of leading & managing teams, and developing and executing strategic agendas
The ideal candidate will have over of 15 yrs experience working in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 yrs in a senior management position, preferably leading engineering teams.
You will enjoy problem solving and working through complex projects, applying best practices of A3, DMAIIC,
statistical knowledge and Black belt principles, and most importantly ensuring your team are up-skilling and applying these methodologies.
